The Sharon V. Jones Memorial Scholarship
Our scholarship, offered by the Massachusetts Pearls of Distinction Foundation, aims to support bright minds who are committed to making a positive impact in their various communities. In honor of Ms. Jones' passions, we are specifically seeking high school students who actively engage in community service, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and are interested in pursuing pre-law, literature, or related majors.

Devyn Bowden
A proud graduate of South Shore Charter Public School, Devyn is headed to Morgan State University this fall! A standout in and out of the classroom, she spearheaded a hygiene kit drive for women experiencing homelessness, dedicating 40+ hours of service. A natural leader, Devyn planned all senior activities including Prom and Homecoming, captained MIAA SSCPS Volleyball and Basketball for three years, and served as both Student Board Vice-President and Senior Class Vice-President.
Devyn, your vision, leadership, and heart for service embody everything the Pearl Scholarship stands for. We can't wait to see all you accomplish!

Julian Tavares
A graduate of Brockton High School with an outstanding 4.8 GPA and ranked among the Top 10 students in the Class of 2026, Julian is taking his talents to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science! As a founding member of his school's Student Help Desk and an IT intern, Julian repaired more than 1,200 student laptops for his own school and local middle schools keeping students connected and learning.
